Just a short note here on the importance of Google Search Console, originally Google Webmaster Tools. The Search Console dashboard helps show site health and what is going on technically on the website and is not concerned with what traffic is doing or where it comes from which is the job of Google Analytics.

As outlined in a Google Masterclass yesterday, Adwords and Analytics can link with Search Console now and add a second dimension to the reporting and show important information that was only visible previously in isolation.

The short of it is you must have Google Search Console running and monitoring your website health and additional information as keywords and inbound links are visible as well as the ability in there to disavow poor quality or spammy links.
